Hi! My name is Kalyani Saxena.

By day, I am a producer with NPR and WBUR's nationally syndicated radio show Here & Now where I've covered everything from the history of brunch to the U.S withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Before that I produced and reported at NPR — first as the intern for the Washington Desk during the 2020 election and then as a news assistant for Weekend All Things Considered. You can find that work here.

In my free time, I review books and report on the latest industry trends. My book reporting has appeared in the Washington Post, NPR, and WBUR. I'm also a frequent conversation partner on book tours with authors. I have interviewed Rebecca Kuang, Roshani Chokshi, V.E Schwab, Beverly Jenkins, Ali Hazelwood, Tessa Bailey, and Vaishnavi Patel amongst many others.
